Stromboli is a small island in the Tyrrhenian Sea, off the north coast of Sicily, containing one of the three active volcanoes in Italy. This gained attention for the extraordinary eruption and the tragic death of a tourist. It is active for about 200 thousand years. The constant eruptive state makes it one of the most active volcanoes on earth with ashes and lapilli that falls around the crater area.
